"Tattoo Art"

You know how you always get gifts from people for your kids that you would never buy? Well that’s what happened to me. Pumpkin got a tattoo kit for Christmas. I put it aside thinking I would wait until the spring or summer use it with them. I figured lots of water would be necessary to wash it off. The fact that there are markers in that kit was also a good indication that lots of cleaning would be involved.

As normal on Saturday morning,I got up to go shopping and left the kids with my husband. They knew where the kit was an immediately set to telling him that they needed to play with it. Ok now wouldn’t you think that he would be bright enough to know that if they were going to play with it that he should be involved? Well he did at first. Then he got bored with it. He wanted to do something else. So my clueless husband told them that they could play with it and do what they want.

Let me tell you.. I came home to Monkeyboy and Pumpkin both being covered in ink. I’m not talking mildly. I’m talking flowers and marks on their faces, their arms, their stomachs, their legs, and anywhere else they could find. Monkeyboy had this thing around his wrist of like markers just going round and round. Pumpkin had this huge glob in the center of her forehead. She told me it was a flower. It was a disaster. They had literally just had a ball with it. And they still had the markers that came with it up in their rooms?? I guess he wasn’t thinking about the color walls that we were going to have.

Now I asked him about it. He said well it will wash off. Wash off.. are you kidding me? Yeah right it will wash off. We started giving the kids baths on Saturday afternoon. I think they got more baths than we could get water for. Monkeyboy was complaining because he didn’t want anymore baths ever again. That boy loves water so that was new. I kept picturing sending Pumpkin into school looking like this. I kept thinking about what the kids would say to her not to mention what the teacher would think. Finally Sunday evening these markers came off of them. So yes the package says it is washable. It is but it takes forever.

Don’t you just love it when you leave them home alone with a responsible adult??

  • LOVE the story! You’re right! I have been in that situation before. The hubby will get distracted with a computer and the kids will make cookies or something in the kitchen or the dogs will run thru the house leaving gifts…AHH!H!
Hey! Thanks for the follow today!

  • My husband is pretty bad but (knock on wood) nothing like that has ever happened. I’m surprised you didn’t take pictures and put them on here. LOL

    Have a great week!

  • That is too funny!! LOL
Oh –sorry, probably not supposed to laugh. heehee.
That sounds like something my boys would have done too. Aren’t kids great? Hopefully there wasn’t too much on the walls. Maybe hubby should have been responsible for the baths?

  • I am just glad he was not left along with the kids and an Easy Bake Oven or one of those Shrink a Dink kits that you put in the oven.

  • Thanks for following me –I’m following you too (I think since the first FF),Those tattoo kits can get messy,I never saw one with markers. Glad it washed off. Hopefully your husband learned a lesson –lol.

Hope you have a great day ♥

  • Those tattoo kits are messy. We had one and it was just a mess. Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

  • I know this wasn’t funny but oh it was. Yes,I’ve been there, done that. Jim was not one for really watching Mike on the Sundays I had to work,so I always came home to something different every other Sunday. Sometimes something easy other time not so much. Like frosting the bathtub in shaving cream,or having Jim let Mike help with the paper shredder and then scattering it from room to room. I do understand and feel sorry for you but…….well you did leave them out where the kids knew they were and hubby didn’t know they weren’t allowed to play with them. Just kidding,it’s all his fault and you need to make him clean it all up. Have fun and tell me how you get him to do that. :o )
I love you blog, thank you for coming and following mine.
Have a great evening. Take care and God Bless!!

  • Hi! The tattoos should come off with a cotton ball and some baby oil. I’m not too sure about the markers, though!

  • my daughter and i love tattoos…real ones for mommy and fake ones for Aubs…she would LOVE that kit!
about a year ago when my little one discovered her love of body art she asked daddy if she could give him one…with magic markers…he agreed and three days later my college-level-physics-instructor husband was teaching with magic marker still covering his hands and arms.
i just told him “told you so”

btw baby oil works really well for removing fake tattoos it might work for those tattoo markers

New from friday follow and thank you for following me!

  • First of all, this is a really informative article! I’ve got a little question nagging me,I really like the theme of your website and tried to download the same layout on my Worpdress site. Anyhow, there is some kind of strange coding error in the sidebar. Do you have any tips, which settings are you using? Please PM me on Twitter @HealthTipz or per e-mail.
