What is a part time parent?
Do you know?
I’ve been questioning it for days now.
Is it a parent that doesn’t live with their children?
Can it be a parent that does live with their children?
One that consider watching their children’s babysitting?
Yup that’s a part time parent to me.

I think a part time parent is anyone ,whether in the home or out of it who only spends time with their children when it is at their convenience. they don’t make time in their schedules for school things or activities,because it does not fit their schedule. They want to relate to the child if the child acts out and embarrasses them,or gets in trouble but is never around to give praise for the achievements that matter..
I think the answer to this is different for everyone. I consider my daughter’s dad a part time parent because he rarely spends time with her. Never calls. And when he does have her,his mother takes care of him. He has not even an ounce of responsibility financially,emotionally or otherwise.
I consider a part time parent to be someone who doesn’t live in the household and only sees the kids on his/her schedule and when he/she wants. It’s sad
I HATE when people refer to it as ‘babysitting’when it’s their own kids!! Major pet peeve of mine.
I think it depends. I think you can live in the home and still be a part time parent. It depends on how much time and effort you put into their care.

For those folks where both parents are busy climbing the cooperate ladder and want to start a family at the same time,well part time parenting is better then none. I and hubby used to work and send me kids to a baby sitter. I felt there are so much that I missed. We only send during the day,unlike some parents who leave their kids 24 hours a day,6 days a week with a sitter. I stopped work 5 years ago and not I am a part of my kids life again. Loving every minute of it.
there are diff. interpetations. a parent/parents gone alot,a person who takes more time with a child vs parent/parents could be a daycare. parents who don’t live together where the child goes back and forth between the adults but one may spend less time with the child and just does fun activities. a part time parent can also be an adult figure who volunteers to spend time with a child through big brother or big sister or another agency. s many descriptions.
