Our public library last night truly had all the thing that a kid could want. They had fireworks, ice cream and cartoons. We went with my brother in law, new sister in law, demon from hell preciouis nephew, and my precious baby niece.  So we get there, first off I don’t expect much when its a free thing at the library.  I’ve learned to just think its about the kids and let it go.

We arrive at the library at 7:30 p.m. which means I’m thinking why are we so early.  It’s not near dark yet.  They had a great Snoopy cartoon for the kids.  Monkeyboy was totally into it which surprised both me and hubs.  I guess it shouldn’t have the boy tends to act like glue when cartoons are on.  As we are watching the cartoon, we were tapped on the shoulder because the Trauth truck had gotten there with ice cream.  Yummmy!  They had orange sherbet, chocolate and strawberry ice cream cups.  So we go outside into the 90 degree weather to the truck to get the ice cream cups..all 8 of us trucked on out there.  Get the ice cream and come back in… sit down and my wonderful precious niece become the demon of heck obsessed with ice cream.  She knows we have it and by goodness she is going to have it all.  She got soooo excited.  You couldn’t even get a bite in because she would holler at you.  This precious 10 month old was going nuts for ice cream.

Did I mention that they gave the kids frisbee?  So the demon from hell my nephew starts trying to toss the frisbee around in this overly crowded room.  Monkeyboy still is totally enthralled in the cartoon.  But that didn’t last long because his uncle started rough housing with  my nephew.  All of sudden, he can’t hear it and he’s mad.  I don’t need my baby upset like that.  He has his own little demons to deal with.

I was so mad though.  Monkeyboy, who is never quiet at these kinds of things, was being quiet while my BIL was rough housing with a rowdy kid.  There are all these people around and a 25 year old decides its ok to rough house??  What… grrrr.  My nephew is diving on him.  He didn’t consider the fact that my nephew almost kicked the guy next to him.  This wasn’t the place to be an idiot.

I got up and went out the door with the kids.  Come on.. I couldn’t be part of this interrupting all these kids because he’s an idiot.  They didn’t understand either.  Why were we leaving the room?  Why was I upset?  Come on.. how fun was it to see.  Monkeyboy couldn’t watch the cartoon.  I couldn’t watch the cartoon too.  What would you have done?

Yesterday, Pumpkin had orientation for her second grade class.  First off, I was really nervous because I couldn’t even figure out what her teacher’s name was.  One of the important people in my daughter’s life this year and I can’t figure out her name.  It’s an awful feeling.  And if you said it wrong would she take that out on my child.  Probably not but you never know.  This is my baby so the mind wonders.

Pumpkin has a pretty much brand new teacher.  She’s been teaching for two years now.  TWO years.  I thought “oh boy here we go when I saw her”.  She’s this cute little girl.  Ok guys..come on.. anyone that looks to me to be in their early twenties is a little girl.  It’s half my age.  Anywhooo….

The teacher is going through all the details of the year.  What their schedule is.  How they couldn’t ask for kleenex or hand santizer this year but that they really need it.  And then she says…

“The kids can have cell phone but if I see them I have to send them home.”

A second grader who is in school needs a cell phone???  Heck I didn’t get one until I was in my 30s… but an 7-8 year needs one???

What has the world come to?  I thought she was suppose to be focusing on her studies.  My kid does not need a cell phone at school.  Geepers!

Have you checked out Harriet over at Harriet and Friend‘s blog challenge for the month of August? I’m a little late for the challenge but I’m going to try. So expect to see me visiting.

So Pumpkin loves cheerleading.  I’m getting really sick of all the cheers but hey thats what its about right?  I worry about the dedication that they require from her.  3 days a week 2 1/2 hours right now.. thats 7 1/2 a week.  It sounds like to much time invested for a 7 year old little girl.  I worry about it as well with school around the corner.  Her school work is what is important here.  Sorry if cheerleading affects her schoolwork once she’s back in, I’ll force her to stop cheerleading.  Nothing will be more important than her education.

Hubs isn’t really being that supportive of it but yet at the same time he’s working really hard so can I blame him?  To him, its a girlie sport not a big one.  So I thought I would do some research.  Cheerleading has actually become much more popular lately.  They go to competition.  Yes even at my daughter’s young age they go to competition.  That made me think about the pressure that my daughter could suffer to perform well.  But we all suffer to perform well in one thing or another.  Do I want her to at this point in her life?  Well no.  But does she want this?  Yes she does.  I’m going to be a good mommy and support her with her decisions.

Should I cry at all these comments that have been left?  Oh I don’t mean the real ones.  I mean the spam ones.  I got 912 since the computer got issues.  Usually I don’t get that many but there they are.  I like to go through them because there can be mistakes but 912..lordie I don’t know if its worth going through.

Should I laugh?  I mean come on folks how many enlargement spam comments can there be.  There are stupid ones.  There are ones about Clickbank.  There are ones about this being a great blog<<<well ok I would like that if it wasn’t spam trying to link to me somehow.  Sheesh get a life and try someone else.

Thank you all for being patient with me.  I’ve gotten more emails and things to catch up on than I expected.  I didn’t realize… I mean I realized before… but not this much how much this is my verbal way of getting out… this is how I shout it out.  You all get to hear me moan and groan when I can’t really do that with the kids.  This is my outlet and I MISSED YOU ALL BIG TIME!!!

But the refreshing thing about this is… I really got to spend time with my family.  I really got to figure out what was important and not as wrapped up in myself.  You can’t begin to understand how it felt to suddenly realize that I was living through the computer.  So I’m still going to be here.. I’m gonna get more organized.  I’m gonna figure it out but I’m going to do it my way.

Things are changing in my life for the better I think… and hopefully you all come along for the ride.  But truthfully I’m going to write for me and the kids now.  That is going to be my focus.  Did I mention that my kids are absolutely amazing??  They are.  So much to tell you but its Saturday night and my husband wants some time with me.  And I want some time with him too.

I finally got my laptop back!  I’m up!  I’m up.  I’m doing a snoopy dance.  I’m out those this weekend but expect to see me here on Monday..opps Tuesday Morning.

My blog is down temporarily.  The laptop is back in the repair shops and not looking like its going to be too soon to get it.  I’m doing this from the library right now.  I will return as soon as I can.  I got some kind of virus because I did not have the updated software on it.  I wasn’t aware that I didn’t.

MONDAY:

It’s fun to cook for Bob. Today I made angel food cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls.

TUESDAY:
Bob wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said serve without dressing. So I didn’t dress. What a surprise when Bob brought a friend home for supper.

WEDNESDAY:
A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice. It seemed kinda of silly but I took a bath. I can’t say it improved the rice any.

THURSDAY:
Today Bob asked for salad again. I tried a new recipe. It said prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving. Which is what led up to Bob asking me why I was rolling around in the garden.

FRIDAY:
I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said put all ingredients in bowl and beat it. Here must have been something wrong with this recipe. When I got back, everything was the same as when I left.

SATURDAY:
Bob did the shopping today and brought home a chicken.  He asked me to dress it for Sunday (oh boy). For some reason Bob keeps counting to ten.

SUNDAY:
Bob’s folks came to dinner. I wanted to serve roast. All I could find was hamburger. Suddenly I had a flash of genius. I put the hamburger in the oven and set the controls for roast. It still came out hamburger, much to my disappointment.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY.

This has been a very exciting week. I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Bob. If we could just get a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with Chocolate Moose
